That the Marmolada deserves
the title of “Queen of the Dolomites” not only because
it’s the highest mountain in the entire Dolomite chain (with
an altitude of 3342 metres),
is
now widely known. This mountain is truly unique in all ways:
on the south side, with its 800-meter vertical wall and,
on the north, where fantastic ski slopes descend all the
way to the Fedaia Lake and to Malga Ciapela, offering indescribable
emotions for all those who would like to to ascend to such
heights.
From its peak, the view extends, from one side, over the
entire Dolomite arc and, from the other, to the lowlands
and even all the way to the Venice lagoon.
There are many ways to reach the slopes of the Marmolada:
either directly from Malga Ciapela in the
Agordino, in any
type of vehicle, with cableways that go to the top of the
glacier, or by Arabba or even by Corvara through the “Porta
Vescovo” cableway, the “Padon” pass and the “Fedaia” lift
systems.
In all cases, it’s worth dedicating one day just to the “Queen
of the Dolomites” that will repay us with truly unforgettable
memories.
